French Creek Theatre is Lorain County Metro Parks’ semi-professional, year-round theatre mounting new and classic works, as well as arts-based educational programming, to inspire, enliven and entertain. Located within the French Creek Nature Center in Sheffield Village, French Creek Theatre produces an eclectic and thoughtful season in the unique, 150-seat, wraparound Ewing Theatre. Priding itself on showcasing local talent for Northeast Ohio audiences, French Creek Theatre believes in uniting artist and audience through the mutual struggles, aims and hopes shared via the theatrical experience.

Matilda Jr
Youth actors from our summer theatre camp will present the story of Matilda, a brilliant and extraordinary girl with a love of books, astonishing wit, and even a few special powers. Unloved by her cruel parents but admired by the kindhearted Miss Honey, Matilda navigates school under the shadow of the fearsome headmistress, Miss Trunchbull.
Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, Matilda Jr. is a heartwarming, fun-filled celebration of girl power, imagination, and the triumph of good over cruelty. Audiences of all ages will be cheering for the “revolting children” in this unforgettable stage adventure.
